After about four months at the firm, Mark realized that defending large corporate entities was not his calling or how he wanted to use his considerable legal skills. He quit and asked his brother, Scott Frenkel, if he wanted to join him in establishing their own firm to represent injured individuals, along with fellow personal injury attorney Gene Burkett. In the early days of the practice, the firm represented an insurance company from Austin and a trucking company from Missouri.

Still, they soon decided to dedicate their legal careers to serving plaintiffs in personal injury cases. Mark’s experience defending corporate entities in personal injury cases allowed him to gain a rare level of insight into how “the other side” operates. His expertise has benefited thousands of clients who have received life-changing settlements and verdicts to help them move forward after suffering serious injuries and loss.

History and Background

Dallas personal injury attorney Mark D. Frenkel was born and raised in St. Louis. After clerkships with firms in St. Louis and Dallas, he permanently relocated to Dallas in 1992 to join the firm of Arter & Hadden. He next joined the Dallas office of a prominent New York insurance defense firm.
