Injuries to babies led to the recall of a popular baby jumper, according to Frenkel & Frenkel.

A popular baby jumper responsible for many injuries led to a recall of the toy by Kids II.  The Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumper reportedly caused cuts and bruises when the sun-shaped toy snapped back, causing the injury. Injuries from Toy Although the majority of the injuries were cuts and bruises on babies, one 7-month old child suffered a skull fracture when the device operated improperly.  In addition, an adult reported a chipped tooth due to the defective part. Parents who own the jumper seats with the model number and manufacture date noted in the recall should discontinue using the product and contact the company for a replacement. Baby Seat Problem Although the seat itself is not a safety hazard, several brightly colored toys surround the seat.  One of them, shaped like a sun, is on a stretchable cord, that could rebound, causing the reported injuries.  Over 100 reports of child injuries have been reported, leading to the recall. Models Covered Under Recall The recall includes all Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumpers with model number 90564.  Parents can find the model number on the tag attached to the bottom of the seat.  All of the jumpers were produced before November 2011, and the date of manufacture can also be found on the seat tag.  Current store inventory is not subject to the recall, according to Kids II. When a toy defect is suspected as the cause or a contributing factor in an injury that causes injury, a product liability claim may be in order.  Contact Dallas-Fort Worth lawyers at Frenkel & Frenkel to schedule a free initial consultation regarding a toy defect where injuries may have been caused or worsened by defective components.
