Recently DePuy Orthopedics, a division of Johnson and Johnson Service, Inc., announced a voluntary recall of its ASR hip implant devices. These devices have been found to be defective and dangerous to those who have these replacement implants. DePuy anticipates that a minimum 13% of patients with these implants will require a second replacement surgery or other treatment.
