Drug manufacturers have a duty to take every precaution to ensure the safety of consumers who will use the drugs they develop and market. Frenkel & Frenkel handles litigation versus drug manufacturers and vendors of defective drugs. Our team of drug litigation lawyers in Dallas has handled pharmaceutical cases involving Albuterol (Proventil HFA), Fen Phen (recalled fenfluramine and dexfenfluramine from Wyeth, Zyprexa from Eli Lilly and Co., Vioxx (recalled Rofecoxib from Merck & Co.), and PPA (Phenylpropanolamine from many different manufacturers). We are currently accepting cases for injury and damages involving:

Zyprexa (Eli Lilly and Co.)

  • Users have been diagnosed with diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, hyperglycemia, pancreatitis or diabetic-induced heart attack or coma following the use of Zyprexa.

Duragesic Patch (Johnson & Johnson)

  • The Duragesic patch made by Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Alza Corp. was, for many years, the only approved fentanyl patch. There are now numerous generic versions, including Sandoz (manufactured by Alza), Mylan, Watson and Actavis. The patches come in dosage strengths of 12.5, 25, 50, 75 and 100 mcg/hr. Each patch is designed to deliver a steady dose of fentanyl for three days. The amount of fentanyl contained within the patch can cause death if there is a leak or defective product.

Fosamax (Merck & Co.)

  • Fosamax is also known by the generic name Alendronat. The drug is known as a bisphosphonate, which is prescribed to increase bone mass and reduce the likelihood of bone fractures. It is primarily used for the treatment of osteoporosis and Paget’s disease and can be administered either orally or intravenously. Fosomax side effects include osteonecrosis or ONJ, an irreversible and painful condition where the jawbone fails to heal and dies.

Ambien (Sanofi-Aventis)

  • Ambien has the generic name of zolpidem tartrate and is prescribed to patients suffering from insomnia. It belongs to a class of drugs known as central nervous system depressants. Ambien has been linked to strange behaviors including sleepwalking and “sleep driving,” where patients have been involved in home and car accidents.
